The put-in is not too far from Austin-Round Rock, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch of San Gabriel River in Williamson County is 10 miles long and has been rated as a class II+ section by American Whitewater. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your sleeping bag. The Georgetown City Pk to Jonah section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. No shortage of good hotels, and     if you make reservations in advance you're all set. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Texas tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Briefly about the general area: San Gabriel River gets a common amount of rain; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and December meanwhile is the driest month.
