If you're coming from Austin-Round Rock it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Texas are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before
you come because it is a very popular destination. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. If you're a camper
you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The wonderful Williamson County scenery and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. This stretch of San Gabriel River - North Fork is 8 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater.

Denny: Started at Rio Bonito Cabin Resort and traveled to Camp Tejas. The trip was wonderful and beautiful. That was one of my best relaxing and fun kayak trips yet. I just have to say my trip was awesome and the North San Gabriel River from Rio Bonito Cabin Resort was a blast.
