Shoal Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the W 34 St to W 12 St section is the only one. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The natural     beauty of Travis County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There are some good hotels near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: At Shoal Creek during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 90's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's usually in the 70's. Throughout the winter highs are usually in the 50's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Shoal Creek drop into the 30's. An average amount   of rainfall falls at Shoal Creek; all through the month of May you get the most rain around here; December is the month with the least moisture. This is a great river. Seiders Spring is a brilliant local attraction, and hiking along the Lake Trail is good fun. At Shoal Creek you always meet someone from Austin-Round Rock; you can have a perfect hiking adventure along the Ridge Trail.
