This stretch of Shoal Creek in Texas is 2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. If you're coming from Austin-Round Rock
it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nature scenery of Travis County and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t
have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. This stretch is short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Shoal Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the W 34 St to W 12 St stretch is the only one. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more.
