Texas whitewater, Terlingua Creek

Brewster county, FM 170 to Rio Grande section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II     16 miles
The natural beauty of Texas and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Texas are often more forgiving than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. There arenít any hotels right nearby but if you're
willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This section has enough mileage for an
overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other spots. The FM 170 to Rio Grande section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system.
