This stretch of Terlingua Creek in Texas is 16 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other places for that. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Texas you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. This is one of a small number of paddling

Briefly about the general area:
For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Terlingua Creek highs are regularly in the 100's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 70's. Highs during the wintertime are generally in the 60's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Terlingua Creek fall into the 30's.

amount of precipitation. The Long Draw is a brilliant place to spend some time at, and going for a hike on the Santa Elena Canyon Trail is always a tremendous adventure.
