The starting point is not too far from Waco, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The Tonkawa Falls stretch is the only paddling stretch along Tonkawa Creek. The nature scenery of Texas and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill     up quick. The campgrounds here at Tonkawa Creek are pretty good. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Texas is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. This is a very short section so no need to bring snacks. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you won't find a large number of other spots.
