Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Texas is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This stretch of Verde Creek in Texas is 7 miles     long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Kerrville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good places for that around here. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. This is the only paddling section along Verde Creek. At Verde Creek through the summer months highs are in the 90's while nighttime lows are frequently in the 70's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 60's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for   Verde Creek.
