The natural beauty of Summit County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. The Guard station off US 150 to Hewinta Guard Station section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. The wild scenery of the Uinta Mountains is great. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. If you're coming from
Evanston it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater
rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots. The Guard station off US 150 to Hewinta Guard Station section of Blacks Fork - East Fork is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

the summertime months highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Blacks Fork - East Fork temperatures descend to the 0's.
