The starting point is not too far from Evanston, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The natural beauty of Utah and the playfulness of the water beats anything. The Guard station off US 150 to Hewinta Guard Station stretch of Blacks Fork - East Fork in Summit County is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. The campgrounds here at Blacks Fork - East Fork are pretty good. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular
destination. The river winds through the Uinta Mountains and you get great scenery. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. The Guard
