The put-in location is a short drive from Logan, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This stretch of Blacksmith Fork in Utah is 9 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Utah you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. Whitewater paddling here in the Wasatch Range is a great experience. This is a pretty decent length section,
it's perfect for a one day trip. The scenic beauty of Utah and the cool fresh water have people coming here. This is the only paddling section along Blacksmith Fork. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better
reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers.
Briefly about the general area: Blacksmith Fork is a location that is reasonably dehydrated ordinarily; the month with most of the rain is April while July is regularly the driest month. And that's not everything
you can do here in the Wasatch Range. A visit to Pig Hole Spring will fill your spirit with good feelings. High temperatures at Blacksmith Fork throughout the summertime months are in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime
are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Blacksmith Fork are in the 10's. South Cottonwood Canyon is a good spot to go to near Blacksmith Fork, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Warrens Spring.
