CLASS I-III 9 miles

The Hardware Ranch to Hyrum City Power Plant stretch of Blacksmith Fork is 9 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Utah is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The beautiful scenery of Utah and the sparkling of the sunlight
on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in
nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The beauty of the Wasatch Range is a great plus for this river. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other places for that. The Hardware Ranch to Hyrum City Power Plant stretch is the only paddling stretch along Blacksmith Fork.
