Summit county, Upton to Coalville section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS I-II     15 miles

Minor correction...Chalk Creek run's out of the Uinta Range. Says Zennifer

The nature scenery of Utah and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. Chalk Creek doesn't have
a lot of paddling sections, the Upton to Coalville section is the only one. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you're
a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. When you're paddling down a Wasatch Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your camping stuff. This stretch of Chalk Creek in Summit County is 15 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section.
