Utah whitewater - Chalk Creek, Wasatch Range, Summit County

Summit county, Upton to Coalville section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS I-II     15 miles

Minor correction...Chalk Creek run's out of the Uinta Range. Says Zennifer

The Upton to Coalville section of Chalk Creek is 15 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. The wonderful Summit County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Chalk Creek make the trip here worthwhile. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Utah are often more forgiving than in other states, so you'd
better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better
reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The beauty of the Wasatch Range is a great plus for this river. Chalk Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Upton to Coalville section is the only one. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your camping stuff.

Briefly about the general area:
