  If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so better not forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. The nature scenery of Grand County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Cisco to Moab section is one of them. The Cisco to Moab section of Colorado River is 47 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. A stretch of
    this length does require some preparations, so it looks like you will be camping out. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. You might
be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came.

Briefly about the general area:
Around Colorado River you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is February.
A short spree to Buck Spring is always worthwhile, and Yellow Jacket Canyon is unquestionably a great spot to go to. For the period of the summertime
 
months at Colorado River highs are regularly in the 90's with night lows in the 60's. Highs throughout the winter are usually in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Colorado River.
