Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. There are no other sections to paddle along Duchesne River than the Hades Campground     to Rock Creek section. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Hades Campground to Rock Creek stretch of Duchesne River in Utah is 32.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-III section. The campgrounds here at Duchesne River are pretty good. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. When you're paddling down a Uinta Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Briefly about the general area: During the summertime months here at Duchesne River, high temperatures typically get into the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. Highs during the wintertime are ordinarily   in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Duchesne River. Cottonwood Hollow is a wonderful place to spend some time at. Duchesne River is a location that is quite dried up generally; the wettest month of the year is generally September, that's the one that rains the most while March is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
