Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Utah is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. There are no other stretches to paddle along Duchesne River than the Hades Campground to Rock Creek stretch. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The wild scenery of the Uinta Mountains is great. You can pitch a tent or park your     RV at a nearby campground. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. The Hades Campground to Rock Creek stretch of Duchesne River is 32.5 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: At Duchesne River through the summer highs are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Duchesne River are in the 0's. Duchesne River is pretty arid mostly;   September is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is March. You might want to pay a visit to Cottonwood Hollow while you're here at Duchesne River.
