The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Utah are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. There are some good hotels near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch of East Canyon Creek is 16.5 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The nature scenery of Utah and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whitewater paddling here in the Wasatch Range is a great experience. When the night   sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while East Canyon Creek overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's.
