The Flaming Gorge to Lodore section of Green River is 46 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a
very popular destination. The campgrounds here at Green River are pretty good. Now this is a pretty long section, so it looks like you will be camping out. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you won't find many other
paddling places. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. The Uinta Mountains scenery is wonderful. The wonderful Uintah County scenery and the cool fresh water will make you feel great.
