A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. Green River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Ouray to Green River Town stretch is the only one. Whitewater paddling here in the Book Cliffs is a great experience. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, so it looks like you will be camping out. Whether you're whitewater rafting     or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other spots. The wonderful Utah scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Green River have people coming here. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. Briefly about the general area: Not much rainfall falls here at Green River; the month with most of the rain is September, and the driest month of the year is January. On a great day at Green River you can take a hike along the Sunrise   Dugway. Summertime at Green River comes with high temperatures in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and overnight lows through the winter for Green River tend to be in the 10's.
