Ouray to Green River Town section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II-III 128 miles
Looking for a one day rafting trip for daughter and I 8-13 or 8-14 any help appreciated. Thanx. Says Craig Steiner
The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Utah are often more forgiving than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. The Ouray to Green River Town stretch of Green River in Utah is 128 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay
the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Ouray to Green River Town stretch is the only paddling stretch along Green River. The scenic beauty of Utah and the water flowing gracefully down Green River will make you feel great. A
stretch of this length does require some preparations, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear. The beauty of the Book Cliffs is a great plus for this river. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more.
