This stretch of Jordan River in Utah is 51 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Salt Lake City, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There     are no other stretches to paddle along Jordan River than the Utah Lake to Rose Park stretch. There are some good hotels near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so better not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, so it looks like you will be camping out. Briefly about the general area: It is very dry here at Jordan River typically; most of the rain falls through April; the driest month of the year is January. Summertime at Jordan River comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's.
