The put-in is not too far from Salt Lake City, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Lodging is available near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other spots for that. The average Utah whitewater rafting or     kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, so better bring your camping gear along. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. The nature scenery of Utah/ Salt Lake County and the water flowing gracefully down Jordan River will make you feel great. There are no other sections to paddle along Jordan River than the Utah Lake to Rose Park section. Briefly about the general area: It is very arid here at Jordan River typically; most of the rain falls through April, and the driest of the months is January. The warmest time of the year at Jordan River comes with high temperatures in the 80's while nighttime   lows are ordinarily in the 60's. During the wintertime the highs are generally in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Jordan River.
