The wonderful Duchesne County scenery and the playfulness of the water beats anything. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. The beauty of the Uinta Mountains is a great plus for this river. You can pitch a tent or park your RV
    at a nearby campground. There are no other sections to paddle along Lake Fork than the Moon Lake to Bridge to Yellowstone River section. The Moon Lake to Bridge to Yellowstone River stretch of Lake Fork in Duchesne County is 8.3 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater
according to American Whitewater. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

Briefly about the general area:
All through the long summer days highs here at Lake Fork reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's while Lake Fork nighttime low temperatures all through the winter
 
are in the 0's. Lake Fork is mostly a relatively dried out location; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain, and March meanwhile is the driest month.
Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Uinta Mountains. A magnificent place right next door to Lake Fork is Mackentire Draw, and close by you find the Fish Creek National Recreation Trail which is a fine hiking trail.
