The Ricks Springs to Preston Valley Campgroumd section of Logan River in Cache County is 9.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-V section of whitewater. The wonderful Utah scenery and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Utah tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The beautiful Wasatch Range
scenery is an added bonus. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other spots. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Logan, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. A good workout and a chance
to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Logan River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Ricks Springs to Preston Valley Campgroumd stretch is the only one.
