The starting location is a reasonable drive from Logan, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful scenery of Utah and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other spots. Logan River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches,
the Ricks Springs to Preston Valley Campgroumd stretch is the only one. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. This stretch of Logan River in Cache County is 9.5 miles long and is a class II-V section of whitewater according
to American Whitewater. The river winds through the Wasatch Range and you get great scenery. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 90's to Logan River, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and
night lows at Logan River during the winter regularly plunge into the 10's. Around Logan River you don’t get a lot of precipitation; through April this area sees the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If you wish for a little side trip,
try Cottonwood Canyon It's always great to stop by Little Cottonwood Spring. These mountains rock, just look at all the exciting stuff to do in the Wasatch Range.
