This stretch of Provo River in Utah County is 25 miles long and it is classified as a class I-IV section by American Whitewater. There's camping available near Provo River. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your sleeping bag. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Utah are easier than the national norm, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot
of people coming here. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. No matter if you're whitewater rafting
or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. The beautiful scenery of Utah County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The beauty of the Wasatch Range is a great plus for this river.
Briefly about the general area: All through the summertime months at Provo River highs are regularly in the 80's with night lows in the 40's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's, and night lows at Provo River through the winter typically sink into the 10's. Around Provo River you don’t get a lot of rain; most of the rain falls through April while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Great ride from above Woodland to the 1000 E. bridge (which is a good scare during high water, 1500 cfs). After the bridge the log jams, second diversion dam and constant river splits can be fun in the right craft (13 ft raft, not recommended). Great rush!
