  The Fuller Bottom to San Rafael Campground section of San Rafael River in Utah is 20 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. If you're coming from Price it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Fuller Bottom to San Rafael Campground section is one of them. The scenic beauty of Utah and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are
    in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so
better not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff.

Virgin Spring Canyon is a glorious spot to pop by close to San Rafael River. It is very dehydrated here at San Rafael
 
River typically; the wettest month of the year is commonly August, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is February.
The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to San Rafael River, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs during the winter are commonly in the 30's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at San Rafael River dip into the 0's.
