Utah whitewater - Spanish Fork, Wasatch Range, Utah County Utah county, Utah PandL Dam to Spanish Oaks section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I-III     3.3 miles   The Utah PandL Dam to Spanish Oaks stretch of Spanish Fork in Utah is 3.3 miles long and it is classified as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Utah and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Utah are easier than the national norm, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. If you're coming from Provo-Orem it's not a long     drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. This is the only paddling stretch along Spanish Fork. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch is short so better bring some good walking shoes. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. The Wasatch Range scenery is wonderful. Briefly about the general area: At Spanish Fork you don’t see much precipitation; during the month of April you get the most rain around here, and July is the month with the least moisture. This river is so wonderful. So many amusing things to do here in the Wasatch Range, too good to be true.   Cold Springs is an inspiring location to explore while here; a cool spot to check out is North Bench. A short spree to Castilla Springs is always worthwhile, and Joes Canyon is definitely a good place to pop by. For the period of the warm months at Spanish Fork temperatures are generally in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Spanish Fork.
