The average Utah whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from St. George, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from     far and near. There's camping available near Virgin River. The Virgin to Littlefield section is the only paddling section along Virgin River. This stretch of Virgin River in Washington County is 49 miles long and has been rated as a class I-V(V+) section by American Whitewater. No shortage of good hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Briefly about the general area: It is very dried up here at Virgin River frequently; the wettest month of the year is regularly March, that's the one that rains the most while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Mokaac Wash is a great spot to take a look at nearby. All through the warm months highs here at Virgin River get into the 90's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's.
