The Virgin to Littlefield section of Virgin River in Utah is 49 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-V(V+) section. There are no other stretches to paddle along Virgin River than the Virgin to Littlefield stretch. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. There are plenty of     hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, so it looks like you will be camping out. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. Briefly about the general area: Virgin River is pretty waterless generally; March is when you get the most rain here; June is the month with the least moisture. A visit to Mokaac Wash is always fun. High temperatures at Virgin River all through the warm days of summer are in the 90's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's.
