The natural beauty of Vermont and the cool fresh water beats anything. The average Vermont whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots. Clyde River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Route 105/114 junction to Clyde Road section is the only one. Getting a good workout and just being
out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. There's camping available near Clyde River. The beauty of the Green Mountains is a great plus for this river. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too.
The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Route 105/114 junction to Clyde Road section of Clyde River in Vermont is 21 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III section.
Briefly about the general area: From a rain point of view Clyde River is a rather typical place; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is February. Near Clyde River you find the Mount Pisgah East Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail.
During the summertime months here at Clyde River, high temperatures regularly get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. During the winter highs are usually in the 20's with temperatures at Clyde River dipping down into the 0's during winter nights.
