The average Vermont whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. The natural beauty of Vermont and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are some good hotels near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The river winds through the Green Mountains and you get great scenery. This is a very short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times.
