The put-in location is a short drive from Lebanon, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Vermont tend to
be more forgiving than the national average, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. There are no other sections to paddle along Connecticut River than the Sumner Falls section. The river winds through the Green Mountains and you get great scenery.
The scenic beauty of Vermont and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. This is an extremely short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over.
Briefly about the general area: The annual rainfall here at Connecticut River is about average; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture. The warmest time of the year at Connecticut River arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. High
temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Connecticut River temperatures dip to the 0's. Sumner Falls is a glorious local attraction, and Sumner Falls is always fun to check out. All the outdoors exciting things in the Green Mountains will keep you coming back many times.
