  The average Vermont whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. The natural beauty of Vermont and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are some good hotels near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The put-in location is a short drive from Lebanon,
    please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The Sumner Falls section is the only paddling section along Connecticut River. There's camping available near Connecticut River. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting
or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The river winds through the Green Mountains and you get great scenery. This is a very short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times.

Briefly about the general area:
If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Green Mountains. Connecticut River gets a normal amount of rain; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here; February is the month with the least moisture.
 
Sumner Falls is an inspiring place to pop by during your stay; the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Sumner Falls. For the duration of the days of summer highs here at Connecticut River get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are typically in the 20's with temperatures at Connecticut River dipping down into the 0's during winter nights.
