The wonderful -blank- County scenery and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The average Vermont whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good places. The put-in is not too far from Bennington, as you can see on the road map further down. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Somerset Reservoir to Searsburg Reservoir stretch is just one of them. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch has
has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.
