The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. The natural beauty of Vermont and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. The put-in location is a short drive from Burlington-South Burlington, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. There are no other sections to paddle along Huntington River than the Hanksville to Cochran
Road section. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. The Hanksville to Cochran Road stretch of Huntington River in Chittenden County is 8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. The river
winds through the Green Mountains and you get great scenery. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places.
