This stretch of Lewis Creek is 10 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Chittendon / Addison County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Vermont are often more forgiving than in other states, so better not forget that lots
of rivers here are good for beginners. This is the only paddling stretch along Lewis Creek. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general
area you'll find lots of paddling spots. If you're coming from Burlington-South Burlington it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too.
