Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The Jericho stretch of Mill Brook is 5 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III+(V) section by American Whitewater. The put-in is not too far from Burlington-South Burlington, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places
for that around here. The river winds through the Green Mountains and you get great scenery. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because
these hotels fill up quick. The scenic beauty of Vermont and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. This is the only paddling stretch along Mill Brook. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
Briefly about the general area: What would winter be without some skiing at Cochran Ski Center. All through the warmest time of the year at Mill Brook highs are ordinarily in the 80's.
During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are usually in the 20's with temperatures at Mill Brook dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Mill Brook; most of the rain falls through August, and February on the other hand is the driest.
