If you're coming from Barre it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The Green Mountains scenery is wonderful. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to     put-in a few times. This stretch of Minister Brook in Vermont is 3 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. Minister Brook doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Kimball Road to Route 12 stretch is the only one. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 60's to Minister Brook. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 10's, and during the   dark hours in the winter at Minister Brook temperatures sink to the 0's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Minister Brook a wet spot; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest month is February.
