If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Vermont you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. If you're coming from Burlington-South Burlington it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The beautiful scenery of Vermont and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater
rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, so it looks like you will be camping out. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here.
Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The East Richford to Lake Champlain stretch is the only paddling stretch along Missisquoi River.
Briefly about the general area: All through the warm days of summer highs here at Missisquoi River reach the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Highs during the winter are usually in
the 20's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Missisquoi River tend to be in the 0's. Missisquoi River gets a lot of water; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is February. A wooded area in the vicinity of Missisquoi River is Enosburg Falls Municipal Forest, and Little Pinnacle is something you shouldn't miss since you're here.
