The beautiful scenery of Caledonia / Essex County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. This stretch of Moose River is 18 miles long and it is classified as a class I-IV section by American Whitewater. This is the only paddling section along Moose River. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Whitewater paddling here in the Green Mountains is a great experience. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Berlin, please print out a copy
of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. No matter if you're whitewater rafting
or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.

the wintertime are frequently in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Moose River. Moose River gets a common amount of annual rain; through the month of August you get the most rain around here; February meanwhile is the driest month. So much amusing stuff
to do in the Green Mountains, not enough time. On a magnificent day at Moose River you can take a hike along the Bear Den Trail; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Burke Mountain if you're here.
