The nature scenery of Windsor County and the water flowing gracefully down Ottauquechee River make the trip here worthwhile. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Vermont are often more forgiving than in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for     beginners. This is an extremely short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are some good hotels near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you're coming from Lebanon it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The Green Mountains scenery is wonderful. The Right above Route 4 to 1 Mile below Route 4 section is the only paddling section along Ottauquechee River.
