  The wonderful Vermont scenery and the cool fresh water beats anything. This section of Otter Creek in Vermont is 0 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a very short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Vermont is often easier than elsewhere, so
    don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. This is the only paddling section along Otter Creek. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll
find lots of paddling rivers. The starting location is a short drive from Rutland, as you can see on the road map further down.

Briefly about the general area:
All through the long summer days highs here at Otter Creek get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. Highs all through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 20's with temperatures at Otter Creek dipping down into the 0's during winter nights.
An average amount of rain falls at Otter Creek; all through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February on the other hand is the driest.
