The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. This is a pretty short section so better bring some good walking shoes. The scenic beauty of Windham County and the water flowing gracefully down Rock River beats anything. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while     are sure to keep you coming back for more. The South Newfane to West River section is the only paddling section along Rock River. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The put-in is not too far from Keene, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. High temperatures at Rock River through the summertime are in the 80's, and the overnight is somewhat colder of course, commonly in the 50's.
