This stretch of Rock River in Windham County is 3.3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. The natural beauty of Vermont and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on     the river in one stretch. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is the only paddling stretch along Rock River. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area: Throughout the long summer days, highs mostly are in the 80's at Rock River. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Rock River dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
