A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your camping stuff. If you're a camper you can camp     at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This stretch of Saxton's River in Windham County is 11 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is the only paddling stretch along Saxton's River. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling places. The natural beauty of Windham County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 80's to Saxton's River with overnight lows in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Saxton's River. Pleasant Valley is a wonderful spot to go to in the vicinity of Saxton's River.
