The starting location is a short drive from Lebanon, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The wonderful Vermont scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.
The Waits River Village to Route 25B section of Waits River is 10.5 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve
in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. The campgrounds here at Waits River are pretty good. The beautiful Green Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Waits River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Waits River Village to Route 25B section is the only one.

the summer, highs regularly are in the 70's at Waits River. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 20's while Waits River night low temperatures all through the winter are in the 0's. Don't leave Waits River
without first checking out Iras Pinnacle; going for a hike along the Wrights Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. From a precipitation point of view Waits River is a quite common location; the wettest month of the year is typically August, that's
the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February. These mountains rock, just explore all the enjoyable things to do in the Green Mountains.
