This section of Wardsboro Brook in Windham County is 4.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. The starting point is not too far from Bennington, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Vermont are easier than the national norm, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There's camping available near Wardsboro
Brook. The beautiful scenery of Vermont and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
The North Wardsboro to West River stretch is the only paddling stretch along Wardsboro Brook. The beauty of the Green Mountains is a great plus for this river. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers.

On a good day at Wardsboro Brook you can take a hike along the Overlook Trail, and the Railroad Bed Trail is a great hiking trail close by. Wardsboro Brook gets a good deal of water; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
