The Old Bridge to Lower Dam stretch of Wells River in Vermont is 1 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. The put-in location is a short drive from Lebanon, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This is a very     short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Old Bridge to Lower Dam stretch is one of them. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Briefly about the general area: A common amount of rain falls here at Wells River; throughout August this area sees the most rain, and February is when it's the driest.
