The beautiful scenery of Vermont and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. This section of Wells River in Orange County is 1 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This section is very short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one     stretch. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Old Bridge to Lower Dam section is one of them. There's camping available near Wells River. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more.
