This stretch of White River in Vermont is 13 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II(III) section of whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Vermont and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Vermont you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for
more. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is one of a small number of paddling
stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Lebanon, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Whitewater paddling here in the Green Mountains is a great experience. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
