Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Vermont is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Keene, as you can see on the road map further down. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The Northchester to Brockway Mills section of Williams River in Windham County is 7.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty
of places for that. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular
destination. The natural beauty of Vermont and the water flowing gracefully down Williams River have people coming here. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. This is the only paddling section along Williams River.

sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's while Williams River night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 10's. The high level of rain makes Williams River a pretty wet site; through the month of August you get the most rain around here; February on the other hand is the driest.
