The Grahamville School Road to Winhall Campgrounds section of Winhall River is 4.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III+ section. The wonderful Windham / Bennington County scenery and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. on that. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Winhall River
doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Grahamville School Road to Winhall Campgrounds stretch is the only one. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. The beauty of the Green Mountains is a great plus for this river. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners.
