The Grahamville School Road to Winhall Campgrounds section of Winhall River in Windham / Bennington County is 4.5 miles long and it is classified as a class III+ section by American Whitewater. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Great exercise and just hanging
out with mother nature will make you glad you came. There are no other sections to paddle along Winhall River than the Grahamville School Road to Winhall Campgrounds section. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking
in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Bennington, as you can see on the road map further down. The wild scenery of the Green Mountains is great.
