  The beautiful scenery of Windham / Bennington County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. The Grahamville School Road to Winhall Campgrounds section of Winhall River in Windham / Bennington County is 4.5 miles long and it is classified as a class III+ section by American Whitewater. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Great exercise and just hanging
    out with mother nature will make you glad you came. There are no other sections to paddle along Winhall River than the Grahamville School Road to Winhall Campgrounds section. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking
in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Bennington, as you can see on the road map further down. The wild scenery of the Green Mountains is great. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding.

is just what you need. All the water falling down from the sky makes Winhall River a wet place; most of the rain falls throughout August, and February is when it's the driest.
Some wonderful nature is available in Winhall Town Forest, and French Hollow is in the vicinity, and is a magnificent spot. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Winhall River, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's while Winhall River overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's.
