Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Vermont are easier than the national norm, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. This section of Winooski River in Vermont is 5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I(II) section of whitewater. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are many good hotels to choose from, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and spending some quality
time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good places. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. The Green Mountains scenery is wonderful.
Briefly about the general area: Throughout the summertime highs here at Winooski River get into the 60's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 10's;
during the dark hours in the wintertime at Winooski River temperatures dip to the 0's. Winooski River gets a normal amount of precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; February is the month with the least moisture. The Hedgehop Hill Loop Trail offers hiking at its best.
