The wonderful Virginia scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Virginia are often more forgiving than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. This section of Accotink Creek in Fairfax County is 13 miles long and is rated by     American Whitewater as a class I-II section. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The King Arthur Road to Telegraph Road stretch is the only paddling stretch along Accotink Creek. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. Briefly about the general area: At Accotink Creek during the summertime highs are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's.
