The King Arthur Road to Telegraph Road stretch of Accotink Creek in Fairfax County is 13 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. The King Arthur Road to Telegraph Road section is the only paddling section along Accotink Creek. Lodging is available near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Briefly about the general area: Accotink Creek is a good spot of common rain; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is January. Through the months of summer highs here at Accotink Creek get into the 80's,   and the night is quite chillier of course, mostly in the 60's. For the duration of the winter the highs are mostly in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Accotink Creek dip into the 20's.
