Virginia whitewater - Broad Run, Prince William County Prince William county, Beverly Mills to Buckland section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I-II     5 miles   This section of Broad Run in Prince William County is 5 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Virginia you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The scenic beauty of Virginia and the cool fresh water beats anything. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots. Getting a     good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Briefly about the general area: The Pond Mountains casts its shadow over Broad Run, and you might also want to pay a visit to Thoroughfare Gap since you're here at Broad Run. At Broad Run all through the warm months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 30's while   Broad Run nighttime low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 10's. Broad Run is a good place of normal precipitation; most of the rain falls during July, and the driest month of the year is February.
