The beautiful scenery of Virginia and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The put-in is not too far from Winchester, as you can see on the road map further down. No shortage of good hotels, and
if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is wonderful. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might
be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling places. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere.
