This stretch of Clinch River is 8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. The wonderful Russell County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Clinch River make the trip here worthwhile. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. If you're coming from

both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Pucketts Hole to Nash Ford stretch is one of them. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

the summer months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Clinch River. The high level of rain makes Clinch River a pretty wet place; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
