The average Virginia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. The Taylor's Mill to Cedar Bluff stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number     of good places. The scenic beauty of Virginia and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Bluefield, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. Briefly about the general area: The high level of precipitation makes Clinch River a reasonably wet location; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain,   and February is the month with the least moisture. All through the months of summer at Clinch River temperatures are mostly in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 60's.
