Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The wonderful Virginia scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are no other stretches to paddle along Colliers Creek than the Collierstown to Buffalo Creek stretch. The Collierstown to Buffalo Creek stretch of Colliers Creek in Rockbridge County is 4 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according
to American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. If you're a camper
you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots.
