The beautiful scenery of Scott County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. This section of Cove Creek in Virginia is 2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V+ section of whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Virginia     is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. The campgrounds here at Cove Creek are pretty good. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a somewhat short section so no need to bring snacks. This is the only paddling section along Cove Creek. Briefly about the general area: During the warm days of summer highs here at Cove Creek get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Cove Creek. The yearly rainfall   here at Cove Creek is about average; through March this area sees the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest.
