Covington River doesn't have a lot of paddling     sections, the Rappahannock School to Rush River section is the only one. This section of Covington River in Rapphannock County is 4.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Briefly about the general area: Covington River is a good spot of normal precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February. The The Peak Trail offers hiking at its best. At Covington River throughout the summer months highs are in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's.
