The beautiful scenery of Rockingham County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. The Lily to North River section of Dry River in Rockingham County is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III section. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near     the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The put-in location is a short drive from Harrisonburg, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The Lily to North River stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: A common amount of precipitation falls here at Dry River; through the month of July you get the most rain around here, and January on the other hand is the driest. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Dry River, and throughout   the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Dry River are in the 10's.
